A brilliant game by both teams this week. Swad shooters, Abby and Claire, both had great games, managing to score from all over the circle. Swad dominated the score sheet early on, but Measham played well and there were plenty of turnover balls for both teams.
Starlings first win of the season, and plenty more to come.
Swadlincote Swifts vs Ashby Ice
A hard fought win for Swifts today vs Ashby Ice. The match was fast moving with some great interceptions and skillful handling of the ball to keep game in play. A well earned GOG went to Dani Taylor our centre court rocket, making some great attacking and defensive moves. Ashby Ice came out fighting to win the final quarter, closing Swifts lead to a final 8 goal difference. Well played everyone.
Donington Diamonds vs Measham Tridents
Tough but enjoyable game this week. The first quarter saw Tridents take the lead 11-5. Diamonds dug deep, worked the ball well around the circle and managed to bring it to a draw by the end of the second quarter. Good defensive play on both sides but the Diamonds worked the ball well down the court and managed to take it to a 34-27 lead at the end of the third quarter. Final score was 43-36 and player of the match for Diamonds was GD Becca Finn who had some brilliant interceptions throughout the game. A great game which was thoroughly enjoyed by both teams.
