Match Reports – Week 14 – 8.12.19

Second to last Sunday of games before the Christmas back kicked off today with some lovely play and sportsmanship

Gracedieu Diamonds vs Measham Mermaids
Lovely win for us today against Measham Mermaids. We had to begin the game with 6 as at a new venue a couple got lost but we had our strongest quarter ending it 17-3. There was some great interceptions from both sides but the Diamonds held onto the lead for the entire game. It was lovely enjoyable game with the opposition being so friendly they kept going till the end, the final score 55-12 to Diamonds. Jess Corden being awarded our star player for her performance today.

BosworthThorns vs MelbourneĀ
Lots of end to end play today in the game against Melbourne. Everyone knew it was going to be close after the first quarter with only one goal in it! Both teams had opportunities to pull away but neither could capitalise on it. Lots of interceptions and fab shooting at both ends meant the game ended in a 41-41 draw which was a fair result for the effort that both teams put in šŸ™‚

Ashby Fire vs Gracedieu Pearls
Today Ashby fire took on grace dieu pearls. Ashby had some key players out of the game so had a bit of a change around in the team. Ashby managed a steady start. With the first quarter ending 9-4. In the second quarter ashby started to pull away. Making changes in the second half of the game Ashby dominated and the final score was 52-13. A well deserved MVP was Carla Garey.

Whitwick Flame v Sence Valley
A lunchtime meeting for Flame against Sence Valley. Both teams started strongly and the first quarter finished with Sence taking the lead 11-7. It was end to end in the second quarter but a couple of held balls gave Sence chance to stay 5 up at the halfway point 21-16.
Whitwick Flame stayed focused , but Sence continued to push ahead with the GS playing so well we nominated her as MVP.
The final quarter ended with Flame on 26 and Sence winning with 36.
Thanks to the umpires, and well done to Abby Chambers WA /C for a well deserved MVP.
