Match Reports – Week 12 – 24.11.19

Week 12 of our games continued at both venues this morning

Bosworth Roses v Swadlincote Starlings
Great game today, despite a slow start and then Starlings suffering 2 injuries (one in the first quarter and one in the second) it was a well matched game. Roses performance was strong and there was a great team effort with the defence fighting to overturn the ball, mid court utilising space well to move up to the well coordinated shooters, resulting in a win a win for Bosworth. Starlings continued to put up a fantastic fight throughout, even after going down to 6 players. Good sportsmanship from both sides. (Speedy recovery to the injured ladies today).

Gracedieu Diamonds vs Coalville JetsĀ
The 1st half was closely fought with most of the time it going goal for goal, or turnover followed by turnover. Our newly formed defence duo put up a great battle against a very experienced GS/GA.
The 2nd half saw Coalville pull away in front to win the game but I’m proud of how our mostly young team were able to display great character and strength throughout the whole game. Player of the match for Gracedieu was Chloe Benniston which was well deserved showing versitily in playing both WA and WD.

Melbourne vs Sence Valley
Two new clubs to the NWL League met this morning at Ashby for a Division 3 match. Strong play and Sharpe shooting saw Sence Valley take 8 points. Melbourne kept their heads held high and played some nice linking passes from end to end. Strong centre court saw Suzie Jacob’s take MVP for the second week running for Melbourne. Keep working hard ladies.
