LYNDA’S “12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS” TOP TIPS #2

Can I mark a player off court?

An on-court player can defend an on-court opposition player provided there is a distance of 0.9m or more.  A player can follow the opposition off court but can not defend off court.  An on-court player can mark an off-court player provided they do not leave the court and obey the distance rule.  The exception is when the off-court player is taking a throw in, in which case, they must be allowed to reenter the court.
