A stormy weekend didn’t put a stop to netball this weekend
Swadlincote Swifts vs Blaby
Thanks to storm Ciara and Swadlincote Swifts vs Blaby, Newbridge sports hall was lively and noisy this morning. The groundsman did little to allay our fears helpfully commenting he hoped the roof stayed on. The court was quickly dried off of rain thanks to Lottie (umpire) and Emma (Swifts GK), so play could start promptly.
Swifts started strong and maintained the lead despite Blaby’s defensive efforts for a final score of 49-35. Blaby awarded super shooter Emily Brockwell as Swifts Girl of the Game. Overall an exciting 9am match ☺️
