The 2nd day of the 1st round of the Cup matches was another exciting one with 8 teams fighting it out for their place in the Cup or Plate.
Mermaids and Thorns started the day with a closely fought match. Mermaids took the win and continue in the Cup with Thorns moving onto the Plate.
Starlings and new team Donington Diamonds had a feisty match with Diamonds wanting to prove themselves in their first season in the League. Diamonds’ win keeps them in the Cup and Starlings move into the Plate.
Fire and Jets had a great game but Fire dominated from the start, taking the win. Jets will move into the Plate.
Roses and Overseal finished the Cup round with a Roses victory but Overseal were not just giving it away; Roses had to pull out all the stops.
Congratulations to Mermaids, Diamonds, Fire and Roses for marking it through in the Cup.
Congratulations to Thorns, Starlings, Jet and Overseal for moving into the Plate.
Next round is at Christmas with 5 matches just before and 4 matches just after the Christmas break. The draw will be done at the next Committee Meeting and I’ll inform all Club Secretaries asap.
